Eckelmann-Taylor Speech & Hearing Clinic

The Eckelmann-Taylor Speech and Hearing Clinic is one of the largest in the Midwest, with more than 12,000 patient visits per year.

This important teaching, research, and service resource offers critical clinical services to the campus community and general public. The clinic is a state-wide resource for communication disorders in children with Down Syndrome, evaluating and treating more Down Syndrome children than any other rehabilitation facility in the state.

We serve the needs of people in the Central Illinois community regarding communication disorders.

The functions of the clinic are

  • To serve as a training center for graduate students in speech-language pathology and audiology
  • To provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to individuals with a variety of speech, language and hearing disorders
  • To be a center of information to the Central Illinois and Illinois State University communities concerning the nature, prevention and treatment of speech, language and hearing disorders

Fees

The operations of the clinic are partially supported by fees. A sliding fee schedule is available for qualified clients.

Hours and Location

8:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday

The Clinic is located on the second floor of Fairchild Hall at the corner of Dry Grove and Main, on the Illinois State University Campus.
