Required Courses

Each degree option requires the completion of the following 9 courses (27 hours):

  • CSD 401 – Research Methods
  • CSD 412 – Phonological Disorders
  • CSD 413 – Evaluation of Voice and Resonance Disorders
  • CSD 414 – Evaluation and Management of Dysphagia
  • CSD 415 – Language Disorders: 0-6
  • CSD 416 – Language Disorders in School Aged Children
  • CSD 418 – Stuttering II
  • CSD 419 – Aphasia
  • CSD 444 – Neuropathologies

Electives

In addition to the above required courses, six hours of 400-level electives in speech-language pathology are also required. Students must take at least 3 different elective courses. Current electives offerings included the following:

  • CSD 375 – Cultural Diversity in Communication Disorders (3 hours)
  • CSD 405 – Issues in Early Intervention for the Speech Language Pathologist (2 hours)
  • CSD 417 – Evaluation and Treatment of Stuttering in Preschool Children (2 hours)
  • CSD 420 – Evaluation and Management of Pediatric Dysphagia (2 hrs.)
  • CSD 430 – Traumatic Brain Injury (2 hours)
  • CSD 440 – SLP For Tracheostomized and Ventilator Dependent Patients (2 hours)
  • CSD 449 – Seminar in Speech Language Pathology: Special Topics: School-Aged Stuttering (2 hrs.)
  • CSD 449 – Seminar in Speech Language Pathology: Special Topics: Autism (2 hrs.)
  • CSD 451 – Counseling for Communication Disorders (2 hours)
