Transfer students are students who transferred to Illinois State University after beginning their college education at a different university or community college. Students who receive an Associate’s degree will likely meet their general education requirement through the requirements of the Associate’s degree. Students who transfer to Illinois State without obtaining an Associate’s degree will fulfill their general education through the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) requirements. Students should refer to the Undergraduate Catalog for information on IAI as well as all degree requirements, including those for a Bachelor’s of Science degree. Students graduating from Illinois State University must complete a minimum of 120 total hours.
If you want to pursue a minor, fill in courses that are required for your minor in the places that you see ELECTIVE in the following plans. Common minors for majors in speech pathology and audiology include the following: minor in Spanish, minor in Psychology, and minor in Gerontology.
These are model plans of study which can and should be adjusted to meet the individual student’s needs and interests. Some of the non-major courses and other degree requirements may or may not have been taken during your Associate’s program. In addition, all degree requirements must be met. These plans consist of 60 hours. Depending on the number of hours a student transfers to Illinois State, the number of hours and courses needed in individual plans will vary.
