Strong Undergraduate and Graduate Programs with Clinical Focus. The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Illinois State University offers a strong academic experience at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
- We offer a Bachelors of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology. Many of our undergraduate courses are taught in a lecture/lab format to provide students with as much hands-on experience possible at the undergraduate level.
- At the graduate level, we offer a master’s degree in Speech Pathology and a Clinical Doctoral Degree in Audiology. Required courses are supplemented by a fast growing list of electives providing students with a broad knowledge base. In addition, our program features one of the largest speech, language, and hearing clinics located in the Midwest, which is located on campus.

The Communication Sciences and Disorders Program boasts 23 full-time tenured, tenure track, or MS level professionals devoted solely to meeting the academic and clinical needs of students.
- In the area of Speech Language Pathology, the Department employs six full-time tenured or tenure-track professors and nine full-time master’s level professionals to provide classroom and clinical instruction to speech-language pathology majors.
- Furthermore, in the area of Audiology the Department employs five full-time tenured or tenure-track professors and three full-time doctoral or master’s level professionals to provide academic and clinical education to audiology majors.
